Over the 18 YEARS this gallery has operated, a great number of rules have changed, expanded or been clarified to accommodate members. Each one has been due to reasonable requests and discussion between mods and members.
We are open to changes when it's needed. So if you have a concern, question, comment, or suggestion regarding rules, please send a note to a moderator.

ART AND PHOTOS:
[1] CONTENT MUST BE YOUR OWN.
- DO NOT submit anyone else's work on their behalf. Let the creator do the submitting, it's only polite.
- Please submit a non-member's work to the "Featured Faves" folder -- this automatically informs the non-member of the gallery, should they wish to join.
- As of October 2019, we accept the use of stock photos or screencaps from copyrighted material in addition to hand-drawn work. However, these images must be significantly edited to make it into "original" material (ex.: added dialogue, captions, heavily altered coloring, etc.).
[2] CONTENT SHOULD BE CLEARLY ABOUT GOOD OMENS.
- There must be at least one (1) canon Good Omens character, or must be something uniquely Good Omens related.
- Re: BOOK versions of GO characters -- Please list character names in the artist notes! Everyone envisions them differently so it’s not always obvious who they are!
- If the image is only something interpretive, please describe how it relates to Good Omens.
[3] OCs, AVATARS, 'SONAS, SELF-INSERTS, ROLEPLAYS, ETC.
- Yes, we DO accept these things, as long as they are solidly GO-related. They will be either placed in the "Fanfic, Comic Series, OC's, RP's + Illustrated Fic" folder, or the "Crack, Crossovers, Memes + Miscellany" folder which is a catch-all for things that just don't fit neatly elsewhere.
- NOTE: Must still represent GO in a way that makes some kind of sense, such as a random mention from the book or TV series, or be generally interpretive of the canon. Otherwise... why are you even submitting it here?
- Further NOTE: Yes, utterly random submissions have happened, been rejected, and then loudly complained about. I really didn't think I'd ever need to specify this. *confused face*
[4] OTHER FANDOMS & CHARACTER ALTERATIONS.
[a] Crossovers & Fusions.
- Must include at least one (1) canon character from Good Omens, who is named clearly in artist notes along with any other fandom's characters.
- Sorry, an OC does not count as "fandom" and is therefore not considered a "crossover", unless said OC has a demonstrably wide audience. (And if you can prove this, we will indeed consider it!)
[b] “Crack” Art.
- Extreme non-canon changes, which are NOT specifically crossover or fusion (ex. gender-swap, baby versions, anthro/animal features, costumes such as Halloween, wedding outfits, cosplay*, etc.) -- are considered “crack".
- (Canon examples: Madam Tracy/Aziraphale combo, baby Adam, snake Crowley, Aziraphale or Crowley in most period costumes, C/A body swap, etc.)
- * Live action cosplay is a different matter and has its own folder.
[c] Good Omens TV Series.
- Nothing that is simply a SCREENCAP from the TV series. Significant alterations must be made to create something more ORIGINAL (memes, captions, gifs, manips, etc., at the very least).
[5] VIOLENCE, TRAUMA, DEATH, ANGST, ETC.
- NOTE: The level of acceptability for this rule will always remain at the discretion of the moderator. This is non-negotiable due to the very real triggering effect that seeing certain images can have upon those with PTSD (including the moderator).
- EXEMPTION: Any scene that is canon in the book or TV series (ex.: Agnes burns at the stake, Hastur devours a call center, zombies eat some brains, post-"EVERY"-scene, etc.).
- Some graphic non-canon content may be acceptable under these circumstances:
- Fanfics or RP's. By itself, written content is fine because there are no thumbnails with obvious graphic images.
- Fanfic illustrations. You must include a LINK TO THE FANFIC (or RP) in your artist's note, otherwise it is assumed to be a stand-alone image and will likely be rejected.
- Comic pages. Images combined with either dialogue or narration can be considered a form of fanfic, and may be acceptable even with Rule 5 elements. This will still be at the mod's discretion, so please ASK FIRST.
- As of March 12, 2015, we began accepting tributes to the late Sir Terry Pratchett. Rules 1-5 do not apply to any images dedicated to this, but will be placed in a specific folder.
[6] OFFENSIVE CONTENT.
- NO SLURS against race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, etc. unless it fits DIRECTLY with canon. (ex.: Shadwell is known for saying "pansy" and "hoor", yet in a generally inoffensive way.)
[7] NO SHOTA. NO LOLI. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Any character portrayed in a SEXUAL SITUATION must be CLEARLY over age eighteen (18) for this Gallery.

FANFICTION:
[1] CONTENT MUST BE YOUR OWN.
- DO NOT submit anyone else's work on their behalf. Let the creator do the submitting, it's only polite.
- Please submit a non-member's work to the "Featured Faves" folder -- this automatically informs the non-member of the gallery, should they wish to join.
[2] MUST BE GOOD OMENS-CENTRIC.
- Otherwise content is open to almost anything else.
- NOTE: The reason we do NOT reject fic for violence, trauma, death, angst, etc, while we DO reject it in artwork, is very simply this: You cannot IMMEDIATELY SEE IT in a fic thumbnail, whereas you would in a thumbnail for artwork.
[3] WARNING, SUMMARIES, DISCLAIMERS, ETC.
- Not a requirement, but it's nice for readers if they’re included in author/artist notes or at the start of the fic.

BEHAVIOR THAT GETS YOU BANNED.
- Hostility or rudeness toward other members. You will receive one warning before being banned.
- Trolling -- in other words, vehement arguments purely for the purpose of antagonizing others.
- Plagiarism -- claiming another person's work as your own (see definition below).
- NOTE: This will also get you reported to dA.
THINGS THAT ARE NOT PLAGIARISM.
- Work inspired by, but not completely duplicating, a living person's work.
- NOTE: You MUST identify the owner with their name and/or a link to the original material.
- Material widely identified as no longer copyrighted (ex.: fairy tales, Renaissance art, etc.).

GOOD OMENS 30th ANNIVERSARY!
Today is the 30th anniversary of the publication of the Good Omens, the book, and I would love to be celebrating in a more significant way. But my mother is ill with COVID, so I'm having a bit of a difficult time right now coping with the potential implications and not in a very celebratory mood.
Meanwhile, here is a wonderful gift brought to everyone by Neil Gaiman, Michael Sheen and David Tennant, which should brighten our day. It definitely made even me smile right now.
GOOD OMENS LOCKDOWN
Everyone be safe out there, stay home if possible, and definitely wash those hands & wear a mask.
Alteration to Rule #1
Since the beginning, the Gallery has rejected stock photos and screencaps, since our focus was on original artwork. Another reason was having no canon character designs, unless you count the myriad book covers (even now, neither Book nor TV versions will reign supreme, and the Gallery respects both). The biggest reason was too many copypastas of people's favorite pre-TV Series actors with a character's name slapped underneath, which was neither original nor artistic.
But seeing just how many memes have sprouted in the internet's fertile soil in the 15 years since this group was created, and after such great Good Omens memes in the last few m
Alteration to Rule #5
8/30/2019
Otherwise known as "The Strictest Rule". But, as I say at the top of the Rules page, I'm willing to reshape just about any rule if there is reasonable dialogue.
In the beginning, I wanted to keep the Gallery more humorous, in keeping with the Book. But things change, hopefully for the better. I've actually changed Rule #5 twice before. The first time was allowing ANYTHING graphically disturbing because, after all, there are scenes in the book itself that would be disturbing if illustrated properly, so canon scenes were accepted. The second time was adding fanfic illustrations, because non-canon work can get very graphic indeed.

Possible submissions glitch
I'm largely back to normal, health-wise, and am mostly caught up with memberships & submissions. Except a couple of times, with a couple of members, their submissions were rejected or possibly failed to submit properly after I hit the "YES" button.
One thing I can promise all members is that if a submission is TRULY being rejected, I always send a note along with that rejection to explain the reason. So if your submission is rejected and you DON'T hear from me at all, then you can happily assume it was the same glitch as before, and just resubmit the item.
In fact, I think the last time I outright rejected anything was about four years ago,

I'm still befuddled by rule number seven. The book is about the freaking Apocalypse, whether the tone is lighthearted or not. Tragedy is as much a part of life as miraculous Antichrist-caused escapes are - probably more, on that note. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. And the inconsistency with fanfiction and fanfic illustrations being mostly exempt just makes it even weirder. Is there any particular reason for that rule, or is that just the way you've decided this group has to be? I mean, with due respect, but I really have trouble accepting 'the book is a comedy' as a rationale for forbidding alternate interpretations.
Additionally, why the 'no submitting content on others' behalf' rule? The artist still needs to approve it for the art to be added. It's a much quicker way both of alerting a potential new artist to the existence of the group AND of getting said art into the group then saying 'here, here's the link to the group, please submit this here'. (I mean, I do that every time, and it's so awkward. Half the time the artists are newbies to DA who have trouble figuring out how the group thing even works.)
